Junior(三年级生):高中、学院或大学的三年级学生。

Leave of Absence(准假):准许学习成绩优良的学生请假一段时间,然后继续学业。

Lecture(讲课):学院和大学课程的'普通教授法。教授在由二十名到几百名学生组成的课堂上讲课,辅之以由助教指导的定期小组讨论。

Liberal Arts(或“Liberal Arts and Sciences”,或“ArtsandSciences”)(文理科):泛指人文学科(语言、文学、哲学、艺术)、社会科学(经济学、社会学、人类学、历史学、政治学)和自然科学(数学、物理、化学)各学科。
